Question 74093: Solve each of the equations. Be sure to check your solutions.

I got confussed when solving this equation and now need some assistance. Thanks.

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
sqrt(4x)+1+3=0
sqrt(4x)=-4
Square both sides to get:
4x = 16
x=4
Checking that answer in the original equation you get:
sqrt(16)+1+3=0
8=0
That is a contradiction.
Therefore there are no solutions to the original equation.

Stan H.
