Question 724229:
The longest side of a triangle is 3 times the length of the shortest side. The remaining side is 35 cm longer than the shortest side, and the perimeter of the triangle is 175 cm. What are the side lengths of the triangle?
Answer by checkley79(3341) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A+B+C=175
LET A BE THE LONGEST SIDE & C THE SHORTEST SIDE.
A=3C
B=C+35
3C+(C+35)+C=175
5C=175-35
5C=140
C=140/5
C=28 ANS. FOR THE SHORTEST SIDE.
A=3*28=84 ANS. FOR THE LONGEST SIDE.
B=28+35=63 FOR THE THIRD SIDE.
PROOF:
84+63+28=175
175=175
