Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
square root of 2y-3 = 3
Square both sides to get:
2y-3 = 9
2y-12=0
2(y-6)=0
y-6=0
y=6
-------
Check the answer for extraneous solutions.
sqrt(2*6-3)=3
sqrt(9)=3
3=3
--------
The solution is verified.
