Question 692925: What are the values of x for which (x + 2)(x + 3) > 0?
Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(x + 2)(x + 3) > 0 is true when x < -3 or x > -2
It is not true when -3 < x < -2
You can see this if you plug in various values for x. For instance, plug in x = 0 (which is greater than -2) to see that you get a positive number. Or you can plug in x = -5 (now it's less than -3) and you'd still get a positive number. Plug in any number between -3 and -2 and you get a negative number.
