what is the answer to sqrt(x-1)=3?
First lets square both sides to get rid of the radical and we have:
(sqrt(x-1))^2=3^2
x-1=9 add 1 to both sides
x=10
ck
sqrt(10-1)=3
sqrt9=3
3=3
