Question 568805: A square has an area of 2.25 meters what is the measurement of each side in meters

Answer by sEahors3(6)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
since this is the area of a square then the length and width will be the same..
and
Area = length * width
or we can say
Area = side1*side2
since they are the same we can say
Area = side * side
which also means
Area = side^2
so we have the area and we want the side, we need the inverse operation for squaring something. the inverse of squaring something is square rooting
so
sqrt(Area) = side
so
side = sqrt(2.25)
= 1.5 m

i feel like i made a short story long but i hope it helped =)
