Question 526397: T is the midpoint of line PQ
PT=5x+3 and TQ=7x-7
What is PT?

Answer by ankor@dixie-net.com(22740)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
T is the midpoint of line PQ
therefore
5x+3 = 7x-7
3 + 7 = 7x - 5x
10 = 2x
x = 5
;
What is PT?
PT = 5x + 3
PT = 5(5) + 3
Pt = 28
:
Check by finding TQ
TQ = 7x-7
TQ = 7(5) - 7
TQ = 35 - 7
TQ = 28 also as you would expect
