Question 496594: Can you please help me with this problem I can't figure it out at all, (x-3) raised to the power of the fraction 2/3 = 25. I got the answer 125 but the computer is saying that is not right.
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(x-3) raised to the power of the fraction 2/3 = 25
------------
(x-3)^(2/3) = 25
-----
Raise both side to the (3/2) power to get:
---
x-3 = 25^(3/2)
---
x-3 = 5^3
x-3 = 125
x = 128
