Hi,
6x^2+24x-72 = 6(x^2 + 4x - 12) = 4(x +6)(x-2)
F First terms x^2
O Outside terms -2x
I Inside terms +6x
L Last terms -12
Above is 'factoring'
If it were a questin of solving then 6x^2 + 24x - 72 = 0
In that case: 4(x+6)(x-2) = 0 and x = -6 OR x = 2
