Question 41303: Show EACH step in solving each of the following equations. Show which method (factoring, square root method, completing the square, or quadratic formula) you used to solve it and tell why.
a: (x + 2)^2 = 8

Answer by fractalier(6550)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
For this one, you would begin by taking the square root of both sides...we get
(x + 2)^2 = 8
x + 2 = ± sqrt(8)
then we would subtract 2 from both sides and simplify the square root...we get
x = -2 ± 2*sqrt(2)
