256 = 2^8
The 6th root of 256 = the cube root of 16 = 2 * cube root of 2.
The cube root of 2 requires either a calculator, or a log or trig table, to my knowledge.

take the cube root of the square root

sqrt(256) = 16

cuberoot(16) = cuberoot(8) * cuberoot(2) = 2 cuberoot(2)
