cancell the negative signs on both sides of the equation
9%28x-3%29%5E2 = 7
%28x-3%29%5E2= 7/9
taking square roots both sides we get
(x-3) =+sqrt%287%29%2F3
(x-3) = sqrt%287%29%2F3
x = 3 + sqrt%287%29%2F3
x = [9+sqrt%287%29]/3
