Question 32999: I was working this problem out and I think i got the right answer but there was some one else that help me with it but i think he got the negative and positive sings rong heres what i did:
Problem (Sqrt 3 - Sqrt 5)(Sqrt 3 - Sqrt 5)
You are supose to work it out in a: (a - b)^2= a^2 - 2ab + b^2 form so this is what i got:
(Sqrt 3 - Sqrt 5)^2 = Sqrt 3^2 - (2)*(Sqrt 3)*(Sqrt 5) + Sqrt 5^2
Sqrt 9 - 2(Sqrt15) + Sqrt 25=
3 - 2 Sqrt 15 + 5 =
8 - 2 Sqrt 15
Is this right?

( sqrt(3) - sqrt(5) )^2
