Question 254222: how would you solve by the substitution method or adding or subtracting method: 2m=n-3, 3m=2n+9
Answer by richwmiller(17219) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2m=n-3
3m=2n+9
adding or subtracting method is also called elimination method
It is the most magical.
multiply the first by 3 all the way through
multiply the second by 2 all the way through
now you have 6m in both
subtract one of the new equations from the other new one
and you no longer have m m has been eliminated or subtracted away.
solve for n
