Question 207914: Adding and subracting Radicals. All variables in the following represent positive numbers. Simplify the sums and differences. Give exact Answers.
Not sure how to write this but will give it my best shot and hopefully someone will understand. This problem has the symbol of the square root with the 5 - 3 sqrt 5 all under it. Not sure what that is called.
sqrt5-3sqrt5.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
sqrt%285%29-3%2Asqrt%285%29 Start with the given expression.

%281-3%29%2Asqrt%285%29 Factor out the GCF sqrt%285%29

-2%2Asqrt%285%29 Combine like terms.

So sqrt%285%29-3%2Asqrt%285%29=-2%2Asqrt%285%29
