Question 157413: How do you solve 625 to the 3/4 power?
Answer by gonzo(654)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
unless you have a reason not to, i would solve it with a calculator.
is the same as the 4th root of 625 taken to the 3d power.
it is also 625 taken to the 3d power and then taking the 4th root of that.
in your calculator you would take 625 to the 3d power and then take the 4th root of that.
you could also take the 4th root of 625 and then take that to the 3d power.
answer is 125.
without a calculator, some logic might help you find the solution.
looking at 625, you might know that 5^4 = 625 (5*5*5*5).
if you know that, then you know that the 4th root of 625 is 5.
if you know that then the problem is well on its way to being solved because all you then have to do is take 5 to the 3d power which is 125.
