Rearrange the terms
Distribute
Multiply
Subtract 9 from both sides.
Combine like terms.
Divide both sides by -1 to isolate x.
So the possible solution is

Start with the given equation.
Plug in
Subtract
Since division by zero is not possible, this means that is not a real solution.
