Get rid of the negatives multiply both sides by -1

Cross multiply
11(x+2) = 4(2x-1)

11x + 22 = 8x - 4

11x - 8x = -4 - 22

x = -26/3 or ~-8.67

It's tedious to check this value by substitution, however, did check using a calc and this annoying solution does check out.
