Question 116234: Solve the following algebraically. You must show all your work. Alternately, you may type as cuberoot(x) and show raising to the nth power as ^n, like x 3 is typed x^3.
3 cuberoot(x)-4=2

Answer by ankor@dixie-net.com(22740)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3 cuberoot(x)- 4 = 2
3 cubert(x) = 2 + 4
3 cubert(x) = 6
Cube both sides and you have:
27x = 216
x = 216/27
x = 8
:
Check solution: we know the cube root of 8 = 2
(3 * 2) - 4 = 2
