I don't know what you instructions are, but here is one way to solve it:
Add 35 to both sides:
2x^2 = 15 + 35
2x^2 = 50
:
Divide both sides by 2:
=
x^2 = 25
:
Find the square root of both sides:
= +/-
x = +5
x = -5
:
Confirm your solutions by substituting both solutions in the original equation
