18 / 2 x (-3) x (-4+6). I get -1.5 but she gets something entirely different. Thank you!

Just the way it is written, you have -54, but if everything to the right of the "/" is actually in the denominator, then -1.5 is correct.
What you actually are communicating: \ \times\ (-4\ +\ 6))
What I think you really mean: \ \times\ (-4\ +\ 6)})
How to communicate what I think you really mean: 18 / [2 * (-3) * (-4+6)]
