Depending on the directions for the problem you could just say that that is the same as 6*6=36. However, I suspect your instructor wants you to use distribution and hence you multiply the 6 by 2 then add that to 6 multiplied by 4.
In symbols, 6(2+4)=6*2+6*4=12+24=36.
