Question 1085253: Find the product and quotient of the following pairs of functions.
1. f(x) = 8x - 4; g(x)=6x + 18
2. f(x) = 2x + 1; g(x) = 4x^2 - 1

When you find a product of two things, we multiply the first
by the second.

When you find a quotient of two things, we divide the first
by the second.

So to find the product function we multiply

fg(x) = (8x - 4)(6x + 18)

[Your teacher might want you to multiply that out.]

To find the quotient function, we divide, by putting
the first over the second:

4 can be factored out of the top and 2 out of the bottom

Then the 4 and the 6 can be divided by 2

Now you can do the other one.
