Answer by checkley71(8403)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
X+(X+2)+(X+4)=225
3X+6=225
3X=225-6
3X=219
X=219/3
X=73 FOR THE LOWEST NUMBER
73+2=75 FOR THE MIDDLE NUMBER
73+4=77 FOR THE THIRD NUMBER.
PROOF
73+75+77=225225=225

Remember, consecutive even integers are integers that are two units apart. So if x is the first number, then x+2 is the second, and x+4 is the third.

So the sum of three even consecutive integers is

Set the sum equal to 225

Combine like terms on the left side

Subtract 6 from both sides

Combine like terms on the right side

Divide both sides by 3 to isolate x

Divide

Answer:
So our first number is

which means our second number is and our third number is

So the 3 numbers are

73, 75, 77

Sum of any 3 even numbers ( consecutive or otherwise ) is ALWAYS even
since the given sum is 225 , there are no such even numbers which satisfy the
condition.
As clear from the other 2 solutions, the numbers are ODD consecutive integers
