The variable n is what goes 1,2,3,4,...

The numerators go 1,2,3,4,...

So the numerators of the fractions are represented by the variable n.

The denominators go 3,4,5,6,...

Each denominator is 2 more than the numerator it is underneath, 
so the denominators are represented by the variable expression n+2.

The nth term is represented by variable quantity an. So
