Find x if the sequence 8, x, (5/2)x is geometric.
.
If a sequence is "geometric" there is a "common ratio" that is used that is the multiplier from one term to the next. In this case that "common ratio" is 5/2.
.
Therefore, to get from 8 to x we have:
8(5/2) = x
4(5) = x
20 = x
so, x is 20
