Question 970637: The function f(x)=7/x-5 is one to one.
a.) Find the inverse of f.
b.) Graph f, f^-1 and y=x on the same set of axes.

Answer by Boreal(15235)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
y=7/x-5
x=7/y-5, which is inverse.
Multiply both sides by (y-5)
x(y-5)=7
divide by x
y-5=7/x
add 5 to both sides
y=(7/x) +5 = (5x+7)/x
These are symmetrical around the y=x line.
