Question 93195: The problem given was find E(sigma symbol)x for the following set of numbers: 2,3,5,6,8,9,11. I have read all I can find and can figure out that x=2 would go under the sigma and 11 would go on top but I can't figure out what the formula to the side would be or am I just suppose to add all these numbers up and give the sum?

Yes. You can get a further explanation of sigma notation using Google.
But your problem just wants you to add up the string of values x can take.
