Hi I need help with this math problem. -7+40 has to be arithmetic sequence, what are the first three terms? How can I solve this problem?
----------------------
a(4) = a(1) + 3d = -7
a(5) = a(1) + 4d = 40
------
Subtract and solve for "d"::
d = 47
----
Solve for "a(1)"::
a(1) + 3(47) = -7
a(1) = -148
-----
1st three terms:: -148, -148+47, -148+2(47)
=====
Ans: = -148, -101, -54
