Question 815904: what are three numbers you can multiply to get 197?
Answer by josgarithmetic(39618)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Start with you less advanced divisibility rules.
1+9+7=17. Anything? No.

Do you know any other divisibility rules? You might. If so, use them.

Maybe not. Do you know if 197 is composite or prime? You might, but not difficult to check.

197 is a PRIME number. If you want INTEGERS, then you have these possibilities:
(-1)(-197)
and
(1)(197)

EXPLAIN why you want THREE numbers as factors? The only idea for this might be (1)(-1)(-197)
and
(-1)(1)(197)

In case you can use rational numbers then you have many choices to find the three factors of 197.
As example, , and note how this result is a multiple, a WHOLE NUMBER multiple of 0.05. What then is ? it is 985. Put this all-together and show the product in the form of its factors: ; notice 0.05 is also so you can say .

Again, the question is open-ended and you can find other three-number combination of factors which give 197 also.
