Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The 4th term of g.p is 108 and the 6th term is 972 what are the possible two value of the (1)common ratio (2)the 3rd term.
--------
General Term: a(n) = a(1)*r^(n-1)
-------
Your Problem::
a*r^5 = 972
a*r^3 = 108
------
(1)common ratio
Divide to get: r^2 = 9
So r = 3
------------------
Solve for "a"
a*r^3 = a*3^3 = 108
27a = 108
a = 4
---------
(2)the 3rd term
a*r^2 = 4*9 = 36
