Question 763358: a2=6
a7=192
q=?

Answer by Edwin McCravy(20056)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
a2 = 6
a7 = 192
q = ?
I will assume you are studying geometric sequences and your "q"
stands for "quotient" whereas most books use "r" for "ratio".

an = a1q(n-1)

a2 = a1q(2-1) = a1q(1) = a1q = 6

a7 = a1q(7-1) = a1q(6) = a1q6 = 192

a1q6 = 192
a1q = 6

Dividing equals by equals:

q5 = 32

q =

q = 2
