Question 744368: In an arithmetic series s6 = 162 and t6 = 47. What is the common difference for the terms in this series?
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
In an arithmetic series s6 = 162 and t6 = 47.
What is the common difference for the terms in this series?
t(6) = a + 6d = 47
------
s(6) = (a+47)/2 = 162
a + 47 = 324
a(1) = 277
----
Solve for "d":
277 + 6d = 47
6d = -230
d = -38 1/3
