I assume that you are trying to solve for n?!
1) 15^n = 17 is the same as n*log(15) = log(17).
2) n = log(17)/log(15)
3) n = 1.05

ln 15^n = ln 17

e^(ln 15^n)=e^(ln 17)

e^(n ln 15)= ln 17

n ln 15 = ln 17

n=(ln 17)/(ln 15) = 1.0462 (Answer)
