The three consecutive integers will be x, x + 1 and x + 2.
6x + 16 = 4((x + 1) + (x + 2))
6x + 16 = 4(2x + 3)
6x + 16 = 8x + 12 Subtract 6x from each side of the equation
6x + 16 - 6x = 8x + 12 - 6x
16 = 2x + 12 Subtract 12 from each side
16 - 12 = 2x + 12 - 12
4 = 2x
so x=2
The three numbers will therefore be 2, 3 and 4
