I have difficulty to answer this question.
To find the width of a river, a boy places a wooden peg at a point A on one side directly opposite an object B on the opposite bank. From A, he walks 50 m along the bank to a point C. He observes that ACB = 34°. Calculate the width of the river.

Draw a diagram of this as given. It forms a right triangle ABC.

Find the tangent of 34 degrees to find the side opposite (s) = width of the river, side adjacent is given as 50 meters.
:
Tan(34) = s/50
.6745 = s/50
s = .7645*50
s = 33.725 meters
