Answer by scott8148(6628) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
this is a geometric sequence ___ each term is 5 times the previous term , so the common ratio (r) is 5
starting with some term "a" ___ a , a(5) , a(5^2) , a(5^3) , etc
you can see that the nth term would be ___ a[5^(n-1)]

I have to find the "nth" term in a sequence. The series of numbers
is -2,-10,-50, -250... I have to find the fifth and ninth term in this sequence.
This is a geometric sequence because each successive term is 5 times
the previous term.
---
Formula:
The nth term formula is a(n) = a(1)*r^(n-1)
----
In your sequence a(1) is -2 and r is 5
---
Find a(5)
Find a(9)
