This is equal to

1.02(1 + 2 + 4 + ...), or in sigma form. However the series diverges, so the infinite sum diverges.

You can also use the fact that if a series of (positive) terms converges, then the general term . By contraposition, since the general term approaches infinity, the series itself diverges.
