I believe your serie should be : 5000, 1000, 200, 40 ...
all numbers are divisible by 5
if you divide 5000%2F5 you will get second one, 1000,
if you divide 1000%2F5 you will get second one, 200
if you divide 200%2F5 you will get second one, 40

Continue by dividing 40 by 5 and there is your answer
40%2F5+=+8
