It appears that the numbers are doubling each time. Let's see if this is true.


The first term 1 doubles to 2. This is given.

The second term 2 should double to 4. We'll assume this is true (for now)

The third term 4 should double to 8. We'll assume this is true (for now)

The fourth term 8 should double to 16. We'll assume this is true (for now)

The fifth term 16 should double to 32. Since this is also true, we can safely say that the sequence is

1,2,4,8,16,32


Note: Finding the missing numbers in a pattern/sequence usually involves guesswork and often there is no right answer (ie there is usually more than one way to fill out a sequence).
