PUT X-1=0...SO X=1..NOW WRITE COEFFICIENTS OF THE GIVEN EXPRESSION AS FOLLOWS
1..|..1.....-2.....-8.....5.THESE ARE COEFFICIENTS OF X^3,X^2,X AND CONSTANT
...|..0.....1......-1....-9.PUT 0 FIRST.NEXT MULTIPLY THE PREVIOUS LOWER NUMBER
----------------------------WITH 1 AND PUT THE ANSWER.1*1=1:-1*1=-1:-9*1=-9
......1....-1......-9....-4..ADD VERTICALLY AND PUT THE SUMS IN THIS ROW
NOW WRITE THE REMAINDER AS THE LAST DIGIT IN BOTTOM ROW =-4 AND QUOTIENT IS
X^2-X-9
