a(1) = 24
---
r = 12/24 = 1/2
------------------
S(n) = a[1-r^n]/[1-r]
----
Limit as n goes to infinity : S(n) = a/(1-r)
----
Your problem:
Sum = 24/(1-(1/2)) = 24/(1/2) = 48
