Answer by edjones(8007)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
216^(1/3)=6 the middle term.
We don't know what r is or the 1st term.
3+6+12=21 close! r=2
2+6+18=26 ureka! r=3
2*6*18=216
There might be a neater way to do this but I am unaware of what it is.

Answer by richwmiller(17219)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
a = t * r^(n-1),
b = t * r^(n),
c = t * r^(n+1),
a+b+c=26,
a*b*c=216
a=2, b=6, c=18, r=3, t1=6
or
a=18, b=6, c=2, r=1/3, t1=18
