Not a math problem; but rather an interesting puzzle....

(1) Look at the string of digits and say how many of each digit there are, starting with the smallest digits.
(2) Write the words you say as the next term in the sequence.
(3) Repeat.

4 --> one four --> 14

14 --> one one, one four --> 1114

1114 --> three ones, one four --> 3114

3114 --> two ones, one three, one four --> 211314

211314 --> three ones, one two, one three, one four --> 31121314

You can use the process to find the next two terms in the sequence....
