Question 1163034: A drilling machine is to have 8 speeds ranging from 100 rev/min to 1000
rev/min. If the speeds form a geometric progression determine their
values, each correct to the nearest whole number and explain your results.

The first term in the geometric progression is 100; the 8th term is 1000.

The 8th term is the 1st term, multiplied by the common ratio 7 times:

Use a calculator to find r; then use that value to calculate the terms of the geometric progression; then round each one as directed.

Do NOT round any terms until values have been found for all the terms of the progression. If you round along the way, the 8th value of the progression might not be 1000.
