If you plot those using integer indices paired with each term of the sequence, you will see no clear pattern. Next value could be anything around 1700 through 1900.

There is no way to KNOW the next number; there is no way to "generalize" the sequence.
There is no obvious pattern to the sequence of numbers.
There are, for sure, many mathematically valid patterns that will produce the given sequence of numbers (or ANY given finite sequence of numbers). Even if the "right" answer uses one of them, you don't know which one.
And there are undoubtedly patterns that produce the given sequence that are not strictly mathematical -- maybe the number of words in successive chapters of a book.
Spend as much (or as little!) time as you want working on any problem like this. Some of them CAN give you some useful mental exercise.
But realize that any answer you come up with by any logical means might not be "right".
