What he has each day (at the end of each day) is shown in this table


    Day      1     2        3          4

    Amount   400   400-24   400-2*24   400-3*24



This sequence is an Arithmetic progression (AP) with the first term  = 400  and the common difference  d = -24.



What he will have at the end of the 17-th day, is the 17-th term of this progression


     =  + (17-1)*d = 400 + 16*(-24) = 400 - 16*24 = 16 kilograms of flour.    ANSWER
