EDIT 1/2/18: To the student: I did a google search and came up with the name Brian Gamlin as the originator of the "infuriating" sequence. He did not follow a formula, but merely arranged lower scores around higher ones so that lucky shots (which I take to mean: near misses) were not overly rewarded.
