Question 1086928: Mei packs either 4 or 13 carrot sticks in her lunch each day, depending on how hungry she expects to be. If she makes a list with the number of carrots she packs every day, what kind of sequence will she see?
arithmetic, geometric, both or neither

If the sequence is {a,b,c,d,...} where each letter can only take on the value of 4 or 13, then the sequence is neither arithmetic nor geometric.

Note: if a = b = c = d = ..., ie all of the terms are the same, then you could argue that the sequence is both arithmetic and geometric. In the arithmetic case, the first term is 'a' and the common difference is d = 0. In the geometric case, the first term is 'a' and the common ratio is r = 1. However, it's possible that a = b is not true.
