Question 1055729: What's the pattern?
5 9 13 20 29 40 53

Answer by Edwin McCravy(20056)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
 5 9 13 20 29 40 53

12+4 = 1+4 = 5
22+4 = 4+4 = 8 <-- 2nd term should have been 8, not 9
32+4 = 9+5 = 14
42+4 = 16+4 = 20
52+4 = 25+4 = 29
62+4 = 36+4 = 40
72+4 = 49+4 = 53

So the second term should be 8, not 9.
It must have been a typo. All the terms but the 2nd
one fit the pattern of an = n2+4.
